Two Leading Economists Calculate the Final Economic Costs of the War

Linda Bilmes and Joseph Stiglitz estimate the Iraq War will end up costing the U.S. between $1-trillion and $2-trillion.

Linda Bilmes teaches public policy and finance at Harvard University's Kennedy School. Joseph Stiglitz is a Nobel Prize winner in Economics who teaches economics at Columbia University.

Because their original paper is over thirty pages long, we're offering links to two shorter pieces as well as the original.

"The True Costs of the Iraq War" (2-page summary)
"War’s Stunning Price Tag" (Op-ed piece from the LA Times)
"The Economic Costs of the Iraq War" (Original, 38 pages)
